Randy-Tom, as my kids called him, was my hero. I was his baby sister (I , 6
mos when our father gave his life for this country, he 14), the only boy in a
house of 5 women with huge shoes to fill. He filled those shoes and then
some. He gave years to his country and in record time, he put himself
through law school. He loved the law and felt a brotherhood with his legal
family. He was a great Lawyer, he insisted his memorial be on a Saturday so
those who wished could attend. He was self-less that way, as he got older he
understood that people, sheer human decency is much more important than
money. I am grateful for the weeks , Cindy, my sister and I were welcomed in
to their house. What an honor to be with him and share stories during his last
lucid days. He called the three of us his favorite women but of course as "true
love" went, Twyla was his one and only. I can not thank her enough for
making him so happy. As time heals, I hope she remembers how much we
love her and the girls. Ayla, Lanie, remember his ways. Live by them as
example to Paige and Thalia. Rachel and Rebecca, I love you and hopefully we
can all walk the sad, lonely path without him in friendship, sisterhood and
with integrity. That is what he would have wanted. Dr. Davis, I knew that you
had to be a good man to be my brother's friend, but you, sir are to be
honored and recognized for the dignity, faith and genius that you showed
our brother during his final hours. YOU are an ANGEL on Earth. BLESS YOU- I
will always love and respect you.
Hush my sisters, dont cry my babies, our lion is at peace tonight ...
