JD Burney a resident of the Hoffman Community passed away on September 1, 2009 in Hoffman at the age of 76. Born November 5, 1932 in Hoffman, Ok to Joe and Violet (Tunnel) Burney. JD Married Joyce Faye Stanton on March 23, 1954 in Checotah,Ok. JD was a Truck Driver and a member of the Dewar First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wife Joyce, Daughter: Kathy Burney Shannon, Grandson: Ricki Basham and a great granddaughter Jennifer Diane Phelps. And two sisters: Molly Pointer and Emily Stumph.

Services will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, September 3, 2009 at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Interment will follow at the Hoffman Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
