There is a special bond amongst those of us who started first grade together in the First Baptist Church building while they were building the new Webster Grade school--we spent the next 12 years of our public education together--graduating in 1964--then we all went our separate ways--the bond and respect we had for each other stayed forever. Jim was my friend--he was one of the most intelligent people I have ever known--he was a fair-open-minded Mayor-and I can only imagine what a great Math teacher,Principal and Superintendent he was--and most importantly-a good Son,Husband,Father and Brother. Rest Peacefully my Friend--someday we will all be together again and continue the conversations we never had time to finish.
