Tough love when Saturn moves into Libra
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wall Street is rejoicing that the Dow has again hit 10,000 – believing perhaps, that this marks the end of the recession and a return to abundance and prosperity. In fact this is a bad indicator for workers who have been adding to the profits of large companies by standing on the unemployment line while those who still have their jobs are doing double duty, with no increase in wages - or prospect of advancement.
This is one of the issues that will be addressed as Saturn changes signs at the end of October.
Saturn is tough love – having rules to follow and deadlines to met, but also about getting results for the long term, rather than the next quarter. In the sign of Libra, Saturn understands that teamwork is only possible when everyone is dealt with fairly, and in the next two years, there will be more commitment to the idea that workers need to be dealt with fairly. Saturn, the lawmaker - in Libra, the sign of the scales and therefore justice - will likely bring some legislation to enforce this ideal.
On a personal level, we are likely to become more conscious of our own needs in a relationship. This self-awareness brings subtle changes, and, as we are able to express our innermost desires, this encourages our partners to be more open and intimate about their needs. Over the next couple of years, Saturn will teach that tact, patience self-control, integrity and commitment are required if we want our relationships to flourish.
New Moon in Libra, October 17 & 18- 10.33pm Saturday Eastern - 1.33am Sunday Pacific
Mars makes entrance into fun-loving Leo on Friday October 16
Clocks go back, morning of Sunday November 1
Aries – You like to move quickly and take the lead, but with Saturn moving into Libra makes you more aware of the consequence of your actions, especially in regard to how you treat others. Saturn, the great teacher of patience and responsibility, also focuses on how you nurture yourself while taking care of others. This process will likely slow you down, but also bring you the peace and clarity you need to create a lasting union with loved ones. Use the New Moon energy of November 16 to show your devotion to a loved one, but also express your love with practical concepts like refinancing the mortgage, or paying down credit cards so you can better handle debts and obligations going forward.
Taurus – Saturn in Libra is activating your sixth house of everyday work habits and health is asking you to make changes in diet and take on a physical exercise program so that you can have more energy and start feeling better about yourself. Don’t wait for an urgent situation to arise before you let go of unhealthy habits that undermine your well being. Start your new program with the New Moon energy of October 17-18 and everything will go forward easily. The New Moon of November 16 brings you closer to friends and family as you plan for the holiday season.
Gemini - Saturn moving into your fifth house of romance, creativity and children is about to bring changes as your responsibility towards the loved ones shift in a meaningful way. Perhaps your “children” grow up and leave the nest, and this could bring a sense of loss, but that could also make your marriage deeper and more meaningful as you create romance in your existing relationship. Creative energy is revived and this can be used to make ideas into concrete reality, or you can dream new dreams - just as a master painter would do while looking at a blank canvas and deciding what to initiate. Use the energy of the New Moon of November 16 to let go of bad habits that no longer serve you. An exercise program or healthy diet plan can help you let go of the stress that has been building.
Cancer – you already love your home, as Saturn moves into your fourth house, it will be even more important to have a sanctuary that embraces and relaxes you. Your house, and other real estate holdings, may be ready for an update, and if you are not ready to move, you may want to renovate or add an addition. Honor this change by throwing out clutter and items that are no longer working for you in order to make space for clarity and the joy of seeing the things that you love and make you happy. In the next two years, you are likely to enjoy a more mature relationship with parents and with your ancestral roots. The New Moon of November 16 can spark the creative urge and help you make the holidays more meaningful with home-made goodies and gifts for loved ones.
Leo - Saturn moves slowly and changes signs only every two and a half years, and with this move into Libra, you are likely to change your communication style and plan of action for the future. You may find your siblings and the people in your neighborhood are likely to go through some changes. Saturn gives structure to communications and deepens the mind – however, there can also be melancholy and depressing thoughts, so stay healthy and keep fit – fortunately, Mars in your sign for the next few months can help you with your fitness program. The New Moon energy of November 16 can help you transform your home, either temporarily for the holidays, or with long-term projects. Finances and your attitude towards how money is spent can change during the last week of November.
Virgo - you will likely give a sigh of relief as Saturn leaves your Sun sign at the end of October and moves into Libra. You have carried a heavy burden of responsibility over the last couple of years, and have likely felt that the world was a serious place, and that you had to be accountable. With Saturn moving into Libra, comes a new set of rules that is making you aware that you have a purpose beyond making money and making a professional statement. Your resources may be somewhat stretched at first as you look at ways to achieve long term life goals as this may require teaching, traveling or going back to college. Honor Saturn by acknowledging how far you’ve come in the past two and a half years and see how you’ve grown through the challenges. The New Moon, November 16, helps you make plans to get in touch with siblings and neighbors so that you can celebrate the festive season with more joy and lighthearted fun than in recent years.
Libra - with Saturn moving into your Sun sign at the end of October, you will feel the power and energy to fully realize your life goals and dreams. However, as we said at the beginning, Saturn is all about tough love and building a good foundation for long-term success, so you may be asked to take on some responsibility before you are handed the keys to the executive suite. This is not the time to expect others to handle the challenges for you, but rather for you to define your dreams in a concrete way, and then forgive yourself for not having achieved them so far. If you need help from a coach, do the research and then make a commitment to carry through on promises to yourself. Use the energy of you New Moon (Oct 18-19) to begin the process and then continue with the New Moon on November 16, as that will help you to better define the resources you need to get to where you want to be.
Scorpio - with Saturn moving into your twelfth house of spirituality (Oct 28), you can intuitively feel the shift of energy. Getting in touch with spirit may require that you spend time alone, and this may change how you look at key elements in your life and while others may not sense these transformative changes, there is an internal shift that will impact your priorities, and ultimately how you react to challenges. Use the energy of the New Moon in your Sun sign, November 16, to begin new projects and put power into making dreams come true. Mars in Leo in your tenth house is making this is your time to launch new business endeavors and establish a successful professional reputation.
Sagittarius - you are already experiencing expansive changes as Mars in Leo opens your mind to the possibility of travel and higher learning and you will further explore your new role with Saturn in your eleventh house. This placement challenges you to get involved in organizations and large groups, both in a professional way and to volunteer your time to help others. Spending time with work associates and mining the gold in your friendships, will help you to better understand the role that you’ll be playing in the next couple of years. The New Moon of November 16 in your twelfth house re-energizes your connection to spirit and brings a deeper meaning into all your endeavors.
Capricorn – Saturn in Libra is likely to change the way that the world sees you, perhaps making you more social and less work-oriented, or maybe bringing you opportunities to take a leadership role. If you have ever wanted to change jobs, be more visible in your chosen profession, or create a secondary source of income from teaching or speaking in public about a cause, this is your opportunity. However, with Saturn in your tenth house bringing increased visibility and public recognition, there could also be more scrutiny into your personal life, so be aware of the challenges and make wise choices. The New Moon in Scorpio on November will help you to think about what education or long distance travel can help you reach your goals.
Aquarius – as Jupiter leaves your Sun sign early in 2010, you will have the help of Saturn in your ninth house to help you prepare for the next stage of your life. The opportunities that have come in the past year now require that you work in a sensible way to consolidate gains – which could involve going back for more education or long distance travel to promote your ideas. Mars, with an extended stay in your opposite sign of Leo is bringing opportunities from friends and partners who can see what a good job you’ve done of promoting yourself and your ideas. Meanwhile a promotion and acknowledgment of your accomplishments could come to you with the New Moon of November 16. Enjoy the recognition and appreciation, as it is well deserved and long overdue.
Pisces – For the past couple of years, your commitment to partners may have been somewhat burdensome, and now that Saturn is moving into Libra, the weight is being lifted from your shoulders. However, there may still be some joint financial goals, income and expenditures that need to be resolved. The New Moon in Scorpio (Nov 16 and 17) lights up your ninth house of travel and this is a great time to plan a trip for the holidays. Jupiter is poised to move into your Sun sign early in 2010 and this brings a year of opportunities and recognition, though Saturn and Mars may but require some serious organizing before the kudos kicks in.
