Father Forgive Them
As He walked up
Mount Calvary
in pain and shame....
The people all around
Him mocked His Holy Name.
As they nailed Him to that Cross
The crowd jeered and cheered...
And yet from the Cross
as He was dying we hear
His precious words....
Father forgive them
for they know not
what they do...
Oh Father forgive them...
For I love them too...
As He died there
on the Cross
in agony and shame...
He prayed...
Father forgive them...
for they know not
what they do.
He looked upon
them standing there...
Shouting and mocking Him so...
A tear fell down His cheek,
for sheep that were so lost...
And near His final breath...
Again I heard Him say...
Father forgive them...
for they know not
what they do.
Father forgive them,
For I love them too.
And then He said...
It is Finished...
and He died for
me and you.
