They did not expect to find an empty tomb that day.
Killed three days before; there only should have been decay.
Jesus was no longer there rotting in that dark and lonely tomb.
His resurrection planned before He was carried in his mother's womb.
Jesus tells us that He is "the resurrection and the life" (John 11:25)
They are words, which cut deep as if with a knife.
He said that those who believe in Him would live even though they die (John 11:25).
Some believe it can't be true; they believe it's all a lie.
Jesus later stated that He is the First and the Last (Revelation 1:17).
Those who are born again, for Him their votes are cast.
He is the Living One once dead, but now alive forever and ever (Revelation 1:18).
He wants you to join Him in glory, yet fearing you'll tell Him never.
Jesus desires that no one will perish (2 Peter 3:9).
Alive with Him , this is His greatest wish.
He stands at the door (Revelation 3:20) and knocks; will you let Him in?
Will you let Him cleanse you of all your sin?
This was the reason for that first Easter long ago.
Believe in Him; He is truly your friend and not your foe.
So as you celebrate this holiday this year,
Remember the real reason for Easter and hold it dear.
