The Path I must walk
The path is long I know I must walk.
Drawing me closer to the end
Each step I feel I must take it alone.
I look around to a place where I've been before.
Searching for something not knowing what I will find.
Many Mountains I have had to crawl up and many to come.
The wind touches my face ever so gently.
Flowers with their lovely scent.
Trees bending back and forth.
The fields of grass wavering.
In the background I can see a Rainbow, Gods promises for sure.
I can even see the sun and lightening from afar.
My path seems shorter as I walk it alone.
I hesitate only for a moment to see a Butterfly sitting on a flower.
As I walk ever so close to the end of my path I can see someone from the distance.
Who is that? I wonder with amazement….
The closer I get it seems like a dream…
For I look and see a tall man who has his arms wide open.
Smiling and laughing so loud.
“Come to me” he says.
I run to him as I am filled with his joy and laughter.
His arms are big and strong as he lifts me up.
His laughter turns to soft-spoken words,
that I never heard before.
I cannot take my eyes off of him as he speaks to me.
My child, he says.
Your path has taken you to many places,
with people and things that are in front of you.
Many Mountains to travel yet not seen or heard.
Your path has not been taken in vain for you have been
filled with many blessings that you have not even known.
Open your eyes,
your heart,
and your ears
and see that your path will go on
Till I say “Come home my Daughter”.
Travel that path alone no more,
For I am with you each step of the way.
Take hold of my hand and let me walk with you to the end.
