I recall reading a story of a morning when a student of Sakyamuni arose to see the Tathagata sitting quietly. "during the night," he asked the Tathagata, "do you dream?" No replied Sakyamuni,...I use to dream, and then I became a Buddha.

If you dream, you are not awake. The ego never wakes up, because the ego is part of the dream. The dream is not real,...nor (contrary to egos belief) has it any information of value to share. Dream understanding or interpretation is not a gateway to the Higher Self, but an obsticle. Dreams veil the awareness of our unborn consciousness.

Dreams may reveal our inner subconscious story, and storehouse or database of delusions, however, waking up is about the Higher Consciousness. Can one dream an unknown experience?

Dreams are part of Mahamaya….the great illusion. Even though what has never been lost can never be found, while dreaming we are sure that we are not dreaming, and seek the real through the unreal.

Are we really the author of our reality?

The cornerstone of all shamanic practice is that everything is a dream. The MahaSiddhas (Great Magickians) became Great Magickians when they realized that everything they perceived is a dream. Treat everything you perceive as a dream, says the Lojong Proverb.

We dream what we know,...not what we gnow. Only when view everything we perceive as a dream, will the dream become thin, and consciousness gnown.

Lucid dreaming? Sounds like another ego diversion. An activity to accumulate spiritual knowledge to sustain the spiritual ego, and maintain the delusion of separateness.
