Henry, are you sure there are no screw threads on the mouth of your bottle? Someone could have lost the cap, and just used a cork to cap it later. ??

The "73 58" code = the company permit (for Ball) & the year it was made - 1958.

The D334 is the permit code for the Jim Beam Distillery.

ALL liquor bottles (made in US) have these 3 codes on them, since the fall of 1934 (or at least by Jan 1935)...until around 1964. It was the law, after Prohibition to discourage re-use of bottles (by moonshiners, etc).

Sorry, the Ball mark is not unusual, they made/make lots of bottles.
